As with all winterization kits, the pool should be properly balanced prior to closing. This includes the levels for Chlorine, pH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Cyanuric Acid (Chlorine Stabilizer) and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids).
The later you close your pool and the earlier you open it will also help keep it clear during the off-season. Warm temperatures could enhance algae growth even when using ANY winter chemical kit.
